A classic returns with a little luster

French architect Charlotte Perriand made her name collaborating with Le Corbusier in the late 1920s and is best known for her modern take on rustic farm stools and other furniture designs. In 1972 she created the Ventaglio 511, an abstract reduction of an Asian fan made from what appears to be planks of flooring with three unmatched elliptical legs. The design has been reissued by Cassina in a chic, low-sheen, black-stained oak, suitable as a family dining table or as an executive desk.
