AU says it has troops for Darfur

The head of the African Union said that non-African troops would not be needed for a Darfur peacekeeping force because countries on the continent had committed enough soldiers.
The Sudanese government opposes non-Africans playing a major role in a U.N.-African Union operation that will be made up of 20,000 peacekeepers and 6,000 civilian police.
