30-, 15-year mortgage rates rise
Rates on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.62% this week, up from 6.59% last week and the lowest since early June, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages, a popular choice for refinancing, rose to 6.30% from 6.25% last week. Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages increased to 6.35% from 6.33% last week, while rates on one-year adjustable-rate mortgages increased to 5.67% from 5.65%.
These rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Thirty-year mortgages carried a nationwide average fee of 0.4 of a point while 15-year and five-year mortgages had a fee of 0.5 of a point. One-year ARMs carried an average fee of 0.6 of a point.
