Fess PARKER, best known for playing Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone in movies and on TV in the 1950s and ‘60s, owned this Hope Ranch house for a year in the early ‘70s. But he never moved into it.
It was one of several houses that Parker and his wife, Marcy, owned over a dozen years in the gated Santa Barbara community, which stretches from the 101 Freeway to the beach.
“Marcy was having back trouble, and so our stuff stayed in boxes,” recalled Parker, 83, who went on to become a real estate developer and today owns and operates a family winery and two hotels.
About this house: The midcentury home was remodeled in 1992 by Los Angeles architect Richard Landry. The current sellers, who bought the house in 2004, put $4 million into refurbishing the Mediterranean estate. Asking price: Priced at $10.9 million, the home was reduced from its original asking price of $12.5 million in March.
