“The Simpsons” keeps chugging along year after year on Fox and so too, on cable, does “South Park.” Comedy Central not only ordered three more seasons Monday but also announced a joint venture with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to create South Park Digital Studios.

The L.A.-based operation will produce “digital extensions” of the 10-year-old “South Park” and also will develop new animation projects.

“Three more years of ‘South Park’ will give us the opportunity to offend that many more people,” Stone said in a news release. “And since Trey and I are in charge of the digital side of ‘South Park,’ we can offend people on their cellphones, game consoles and computers too. It’s all very exciting for us.”
