Evoking the old-fashioned art of paper-cutout silhouettes, designer Helene Ige has launched a range of sophisticated mobiles shaped like chandeliers and birds on branches. Her newest designs reference 19th century portrait cameos and Victorian architecture. The all-black, laser-cut Birdhouse Mobile shown here ($65) might be suitable in the nursery, but it’s more likely to be enjoyed by grown-ups with a taste for goth. The piece is made from 100% cotton museum board and is sold preassembled. Ige, 7382 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles; (323) 939-2788.
