Short-term T-bill rates rise in sale
From Times Wire Services
The Treasury Department auctioned $20 billion in three-month bills at a discount rate of 3.28%, up from 3.00% last week. An additional $19 billion in six-month bills was auctioned at a discount rate of 3.490%, up from 3.280% last week.
The rates reflect that the bills sell for less than face value. For a $10,000 bill, the three-month price was $9,917.09, and the six-month price was $9,823.56.
The Federal Reserve did not release rates on one-year Treasury bills because of the holiday.
