Singer Brandy won’t face charges
From the Associated Press
Grammy-winning singer-actress Brandy will not face criminal charges for a deadly freeway crash last year, the city attorney’s office said Friday.
Prosecutors decided there was “insufficient evidence” for a jury to find Brandy Norwood guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of vehicular manslaughter, spokesman Nick Velasquez said.
The decision runs counter to a recommendation from the California Highway Patrol that Brandy be charged in the crash last Dec. 30.
The accident killed Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, of Los Angeles.
