At the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation holiday bash at Paramount Studios on Dec. 22, proud papa-to-be 2. Joel Madden handed out hugs to kids from Beyond Shelter, a program helping families combat homelessness and poverty, as did his partner Nicole Richie, who also provided laughs. Guests chowed down on hot dogs, stopped by a face-painting station, and loaded up on balloon animals before leaving with a new pair of Stride Rite shoes and their own cuddle buddies, Cloud B Cuddle Cub teddy bears.

The ‘Right’ stuff for kids

Move over, Drew Carey! Santa took over as host on “The Price Is Right” stage on Dec. 19, transforming it into a winter wonderland for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation Great Escape. The 400 seriously ill children and their families left with prizes, ornaments and stockings, and photos alongside “High School Musical” stars Ashley Tisdale and 1. Corbin Bleu.

GI Joes wanted

4. Nick Cannon joined the Marines in their latest mission: helping collect presents for their Toys for Tots program at his Young Hollywood Club Christmas Party at club LAX on Dec. 19. Guests dropped off unwrapped gifts, to be given to disadvantaged youth, before rocking out to tunes spun by the host himself.

Service with a mission

3. Jennifer Love Hewitt offered service with a smile for those in need at the Los Angeles Mission on Christmas Eve. After helping hand out thousands of meals with volunteers, including her fiance, Ross McCall, the “Ghost Whisperer” actress cozied up to another man: Santa, who doled out presents to 600 eagerly awaiting kids.
