Baby makes 3 for ‘Numb3rs’ star

DIANE FARR’S life is all about numbers. There’s her series, “Numb3rs” (10 p.m. Fridays on CBS), and the 2+1 = 3 calculation that husband Seung Chung and the very pregnant Farr will take on when baby arrives.

There’s a number for her off time too. “On a good weekend I take care of six things,” she says. “I make time for Seung, for baby shopping, for friends, for the series, for my greeting-card company and for me.”

Sounds like a plan. Somebody keep score.

Satisfying cravings

Friday is usually double-date night for us, and so my husband and I will get together with whatever friends we can wrangle. One of our favorite places is Doug Arango’s in West Hollywood. It’s family run, mellow and homey. I’ve had this unbelievable starter, a mussel sampler. It’s so delicious, and when you’re pregnant and in a constant fight to find a new protein, I’m like, “Mussels! Perfect!” And then I go crazy and order the butternut squash ravioli. They also have a tarot card reader once a month. And they have great individual lemon meringue pies. I’m usually a chocolate girl, but this was so worth the left turn to the fruit thing.

Some ‘me’ time

On Saturday I might start out with doing some things for “Numb3rs,” like experimenting with new makeup. There are so many great little shops in Hollywood, but one of my favorites is Intuition on Pico, near the Sony lot. They also have women’s clothes and bags, and there’s a pregnancy shelf where I never fail to spend $500. This is the kind of store it is: They have something called Hooter Hiders, a little wrap you put over your chest while you’re breastfeeding.

And I have to work on my card company, Other Announcements. My custom cards are for things like people who’ve failed the bar exam, or people whose houses burned down and they need a change of address card. My partner and I brainstorm ideas.

On Saturday night, my husband loves to see up-and-coming hip-hop bands. One of my favorites spots is the Knitting Factory. It’s fun, you see groups before they really hit it big.

Eat and hike

On Sunday, I’d start with a little breakfast and then, so I don’t feel like a total sloth, I’d go work out with my trainer at the bottom of Runyon Canyon. We’ll do yoga and kick boxing and then we’ll hike the canyon for about an hour. Much more fun than the gym. Then we’d go to Hugo’s in West Hollywood. Not expensive, no pretenses. I don’t think I’ve ever been there without seeing a celebrity, but they just sit there in the middle of the melee with everybody else. I don’t usually like salads, but I learned how to eat them at Hugo’s. In their breakfast salad, they take eggs and rice and shaved almonds and put a turmeric dressing on it and serve it over greens. They also do chilaquiles and have great turkey bacon. They have about 70 teas from every corner of the Earth.

After that, being married to a Korean, I’m a big fan of the old-fashioned Korean nail salons. I go to Lynn’s Nails on 3rd and Fairfax. It’s a teeny little place that’s really fast and really clean. You can spend $60 at the Four Seasons, but Lynn’s is about $12. Then the rest of the night it’s me, the TiVo and the couch.
