Already thriving

As downtown continues to boom, an exhausted J.D. Iriarte is putting in 18-hour days to finish up his new nightclub, Tatou. The glamorous venue at the old Glam Slam is thriving, despite the fact it does not officially open until Feb. 22. “I figured why not make money on dress rehearsals,” says Iriarte, a celebrity events producer who works with Robert Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. “I’m not bringing my friends down here until we have all the kinks worked out, though.” The Cocoanut Grove-inspired nightclub, which is also owned by Mark Fleischman (Century Club/Studio 54/Tatou Beverly Hills and Tatou New York) will feature a multitude of VIP rooms and celebrity chef Michael Ray (first season winner of “Hell’s Kitchen”). A note to red-hot lovers: The kitchen is set to open on Valentine’s Day.... A lot of familiar faces have chanced by the newly revamped Table 8. Seen sampling from the Hollywood lounge’s new menu, which includes fried risotto balls and fresh cucumber cocktails, were Paris and Nicky Hilton, Paula Abdul, Molly Simms, Fabrizio of the Strokes and Ryan Seacrest.... But the best recent celebrity spotting goes to Royal Claytons, another new downtown hot spot. Robert Redford showed up there with a film crew, sniffing it out as a possible film location.

Grammy party: Rolling Stone magazine’s party at Avalon Hollywood will be held Saturday, not Sunday, as was reported in the Buzz Clubs column in Thursday’s Calendar Weekend.

Grammy party time

Folks are already angling to get into the Brent Bolthouse/SBE Grammy party, which is being tossed on behalf of the William Morris Agency on Sunday. They’re decking the halls of a Westwood parking structure with DJ Adam 12.... Avalon Hollywood is hosting Black Eyed Peas’ “Peapod” Foundation event tonight and Rolling Stone’s Grammy party on Sunday. Look for Justin Timberlake to hit the stage for that one.... The Dolce Group is showing just how much it loves the ladies by offering two new promotions. On Thursdays at Dolce, gals receive a discounted menu, a complimentary Pinky Vodka cocktail and gift bags. In addition, D.G.’s Les Deux Cafe is offering an exotic car service, which can transport gals to and from the Hollywood nightclub.... Matisyahu’s been keeping it kosher at the Prime Grill on Rodeo Drive. The Jewish reggae star has made repeat visits with his family in the last couple of weeks, and Sacha Baron Cohen (“Borat”) dined there recently with fiancee Isla Fisher.

Worth noting

Save the date: This year’s General Motors Ten event, a star-drenched fashionista gala, is being held Feb. 20 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood and includes a performance by Beck.... Punk band the Adz, which includes members of the Adolescents, are scheduled to perform at an all-girl roller derby match Saturday in the Little Tokyo Shopping Center on Alameda. Opening with the national anthem, the Adz kick off a bout between Fight Crew and the Tough Cookies before offering the halftime entertainment. Rock ‘em, sock ‘em.
