Outlets are safety issue
The Feb. 4 letter “Electrical Outlets and Code Changes,” which stated that two-prong outlets or receptacles need not be reported by a home inspector, misses a primary purpose of a home inspection.
Although I agree that a home inspection is not and should not be considered a code inspection, the inspector is hired to inform and educate the client regarding the condition of the home, including items that concern safety.
This should include reporting two-prong -- if the boxes are not grounded -- and ungrounded outlets.
