Falsely portraying Israel as the villain

Share

Re “Police, protesters clash at Jerusalem holy site,” Feb. 10

The coverage of Muslim intimidation through violent riots may sell newspapers, but prominently covering riots with provocative photos that have no justification also sells future riots. The pedestrian ramp is outside the Temple Mount platform and complex; it is not part of it. The existing ramp was undermined by a snowstorm in 2004, and the new walkway is a safety measure that will benefit all visitors to this sacred location. The riots are simply another aspect of the persistent Palestinian campaign against Israel and an attempt to deny Jewish roots to this particular parcel. And The Times bought into it.

This article is so one-sided. For the uninformed, Israel is the villain, defiling a Muslim holy site. Not until the end of the article do you get the Israeli perspective. By that time, uninformed people have already cast Israel as the bad guys.
