Red Wings stay hot at home

Henrik Zetterberg scored the tiebreaking goal with 6:22 left to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night in Detroit.

The Red Wings have won 13 straight at home, one off the franchise record set in 1964-65.

San Jose 3, Washington 2 -- Joe Pavelski and Jonathan Cheechoo scored in a shootout and the visiting Sharks beat the Capitals for the 10th time in a row.

Patrick Rissmiller and Matthew Carle scored in regulation and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 24 shots for San Jose.

The New York Rangers put forward Brendan Shanahan on injured reserve because of a concussion he suffered Saturday against Philadelphia.... Carolina Hurricanes forward Erik Cole is expected to sit out at least two weeks with a hip injury.
