A bad loss

On behalf of USC basketball, let me be the first to bid farewell to any hope of the Trojans’ receiving an invitation to the NCAA tournament. When the tournament selection committee ponders the question, “What team can’t beat Arizona State but still belongs in the NCAA tournament?” the correct answer will be “None.”

Once again (and again, and again, etc.), wait until next year.

I noticed UCLA opened a can of whoopin’ on the “measuring stick” of the Pac-10 last weekend, while Tim Floyd’s team handed Arizona State its first and probably only conference win of their year. This guy and a side of Mayo are going to be hoisting championship banners at USC for years to come? I don’t think so.
