* Hansen Natural Corp., the maker of Monster Energy drinks, reported a 51% increase in fourth-quarter sales and said it withheld some figures pending the outcome of an investigation of stock option awards. Revenue climbed to $171.5 million from $113.6 million a year earlier, the Corona-based company said. Hansen said Nov. 6 that it had named a committee of directors and hired outside lawyers to investigate its stock option grants.

* Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., the biggest U.S. maker of generic drugs, reported a fourth-quarter loss on the write-down of in-process research and development. The net loss was $489 million, or $4.80 a share, compared with a profit of $20.1 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier, the Corona-based company said. Revenue rose to $621.2 million from $418.8 million.
