USC gets first conference win

The USC women beat Washington State for the 13th straight time, 62-56, Sunday at Pullman to earn its first Pacific 10 Conference victory of the season.

Chloe Kerr had 19 points for the Trojans (7-7, 1-3), who won despite making only 22 of 36 free-throw attempts.

Marisa Stotler had 16 points for Washington State (5-9, 1-3), which made 13 of 17 free throws.

Washington 72, UCLA 67 -- The Bruins (8-8, 2-2) failed to capitalize after the Huskies (11-4, 4-0) missed 21 of their first 28 shots at Seattle.

Cameo Hicks had 22 points for Washington, undefeated after four conference games for the first time since the 1991-92 season.

Noelle Quinn had 19 points, six assists and five rebounds for UCLA.

Washington, which took the lead for good at 47-46 with 12:02 left, made 28 of 72 shots (39%). UCLA shots 43% (25 of 59).

The Bruins trailed by as many as 11 points before a 7-0 run made it 71-67 with 48 seconds left.
