Airline attendants deserve praise

I just read the article on the new study on airlines’ compliance with promises made for improvements [Airlines’ Plans to Improve Service Are Barely Off the Ground,” Travel Insider, Dec. 17].

Although I do not question that there need to be improvements, I would like to add a positive note.

I am a 65-plus frequent flier who is overweight. When I travel, I require a wheelchair because of a back injury. In more than 20 years, I have certainly experienced my share of mishaps. However, of all the hundreds of employees I have come into contact with, I have had only one ever be anything but helpful. In that one incident, other flight attendants on that flight more than made up for that.

So please continue to pressure the companies to improve, but take time to thank the hard-working employees for their help.
