Re “Governor wants 550 wolves killed,” Jan. 12
Among a bevy of bad news, this story stood out as particularly depressing. Although Republicans love to decry liberals as “elitist,” nothing smacks of elitism more than the notion that a few privileged, Humvee-driving, gun-toting animal haters have the right to deprive the rest of the country of one of God’s most magnificent creatures. The gray wolf has won a hard-fought battle against extinction. Here’s hoping that public opinion turns against the governor of Idaho and that the moral crime of wolf hunting is never permitted.
