Hernandez appointed to fill school board seat
Jose Alfredo Hernandez has been appointed to Santa Ana Unified School District’s board of trustees, the district announced Wednesday.
The appointment of Hernandez, 33, an attorney who has two children attending district schools, fills a vacancy created by Sal Tinajero’s election to the City Council in November.
Hernandez, who attended city schools and has been a substitute teacher in the district, was chosen for the five-member board from a field of 16 applicants. His term will last through November 2008, district officials said.
