Teck makes bid for Aur Resources

Teck Cominco Ltd. has offered $3.9 billion in cash and stock for Canada-based copper miner Aur Resources Inc., whose board is recommending the deal to its shareholders.
Aur Resources, based in Toronto, has major copper holdings in Chile and in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
Vancouver, Canada-based Teck Cominco is a world leader in the production of zinc and metallurgical coal and also a significant producer of copper, gold and specialty metals.
