A practical view

HOW refreshing it was to read Holly Myers’ review of Brazilian artist Renata Lucas [“A ‘Failure’ to Connect,” July 11], especially the part about the 182 plywood panels spread across the gallery’s floor: “ ... it’s difficult in this case to get around the feeling that what you’re looking at is really just a lot of plywood lying on the floor.”
Perhaps one day, art critics might make similar comments such as, “It’s really just a black dot on a white canvas” or “It looks like splattered paint to me.”
