Those looking for an $18 mojito need go no further than the posh new lounge, Bar Nineteen 12, at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The pink lady debuted this classy confection in soft openings last week, and it’s a scene. Party girl Maria Lynch was seen kicking it on Friday with England’s Chelsea soccer team, which sported short shorts revealing very hairy legs. The muted lounge takes its cues from the ‘40s, although it takes its name from the year the Mission-style hotel was born.... And for the perfect virgin mojito, go straight to the Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica, where we cozied up at a romantic table on Thursday with an exquisite 180-degree view of the ocean. Didn’t hurt that we were within earshot of the Rock and Michael Bay.... Not to be caught slipping, Hyde on Sunset entertained a privileged few on Monday night with a special performance by the Groove Armada.

There’s smoke

The J Lounge downtown is smoking, literally. The tony restaurant and bar on Olive Street (formerly Little J’s) is a hotspot for those looking to polish off their cocktails with a fine cigar (by the way, the humidor is upstairs).... The transgender club Syren just ended its run at Tempest in WeHo and is now shacking up on Saturday nights in Little Tokyo in a warehouse space dubbed the Loft, which is located at 929 E. 2nd St., at Vignes.... MotoX madman Carey Hart hit the Townhouse in Venice last week.... On Saturday night, I had ringside seats for Fatal Femmes Fighting, which took place at the Crystal Casino in Compton. And let me tell you, these dames don’t fight like girls. One competitor was escorted out on a stretcher (after being treated by “Doctor 90210”) for a fractured foot. And by the way, A.J. Benza was in the house.

Already a scene

Promoter Stephen Hauptfeur’s Wednesday night shindig at the Hollywood Canteen is called Sahara, but it looks more like an oasis for scenesters. The crowds have been very lively, and actress Shannyn Sossamon was scheduled to take a DJ turn there on Wednesday.... The festivities surrounding Tuesday’s premiere of the documentary “Brasilintime: Batucada Com Discos” continue tonight when many of the musicians featured in the film -- including Cut Chemist, Madlib, J.Rocc, Babu, Paul Humphrey, DJ Nuts and Ivan “Mamao” Conti -- perform at the Mayan Theatre.... More on the film beat: Hollywood doorman Clint Catalyst (Cherry, Bang, Make-Up) makes his big-screen debut at the Regent Theatre on Saturday in director Hilary Goldberg’s short film, “In the Spotlight,” where he plays a charlatan. I’m sure the club scene offered no shortage of inspiration.
