Who can afford to take a vacation?

Re “Take Vacations to Heart” [July 16]: I have to say that the conclusion that people who take vacations are healthier and more stress-free might have something to do with the fact that they have the wealth and job security to go on the vacation.

I’ll bet that IF you controlled for job security and wealth, the health benefits might disappear.

I would like to also mention that though vacationing does not require travel, the version you are discussing seems to and that travel by available modern transportation is an eco-disaster.
