‘Cyrano’ as opera: A new opera by David DiChiera, who led Orange County’s Opera Pacific from its inception in 1986 until 1996 and is now founding general director of Michigan Opera Theatre, will receive its premiere at the Detroit company in October. The work, “Cyrano,” is based on Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play “Cyrano de Bergerac.”
