Phillips elicits coyote howls

Re: Bijou Phillips “Did you know that coyotes won’t eat Chihuahuas? They respect them as fellow desert creatures” [My Favorite Weekend, June 7]:

Unfortunately, I know people who have had their Chihuahuas eaten by coyotes. Oh, wait, maybe those coyotes didn’t get the memo about not eating their fellow desert creatures.

I’m sure all the people who’ve lost their Chihuahuas to coyotes will take comfort in Phillips’ asinine statement that it was simply a case of mistaken identity.

I pity her dogs. At least they won’t be around for long.
