SPARKS TONIGHT

Share

at Minnesota, 5 PDT

Site -- Target Center.

Radio -- 1150.

Records -- Sparks 5-2, Lynx 2-9.

Record vs. Lynx -- 1-0.

Update -- The Sparks will be riding a three-game winning streak when they face the Lynx, the first team they will be meeting for the second time this season. The Sparks have started well -- albeit against struggling opponents -- in the absence of new mother Lisa Leslie, injured Temeka Johnson and abruptly retired Chamique Holdsclaw. Six players have led the Sparks in scoring and six have led or tied for the lead in rebounding in the team’s seven games. Center Taj McWilliams-Franklin had season highs of 20 points in two games earlier this week, and forward LaToya Thomas had her best all-around game of the year in a 74-71 victory over Houston on Wednesday. Minnesota guard Seimone Augustus, the WNBA’s 2006 rookie of the year, torched the Sparks for 28 points in their home opener.
