2 killed in attacks against ministers

Somalia’s trade minister and former defense minister survived assassination attempts that killed two other people, witnesses said.
A roadside bomb hit Trade Minister Abdullahi Ahmed Afrah’s convoy late Tuesday in Mogadishu, the capital. A female passerby was killed.
A land mine detonated near former Defense Minister Barre Adan Shire’s car a day later in the central Somalian district of Bardhere. Shire, now a member of parliament, was rushed to a hospital with head injuries. His driver died, a Shire aide said.
