She’s got stage presence, but alas, no TiVo or iPod
Patti LuPone’s career on the musical stage exploded with her Tony-winning portrayal of Eva Peron in the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice blockbuster “Evita.” Since then, the versatile Broadway baby has also racked up successes as a recording artist, cabaret singer and TV and film actor. In recent years, LuPone has added opera to her resume. She shares top billing in Los Angeles Opera’s production of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion through today.
