Man convicted of killing brother and sister-in-law
A 60-year-old Victorville man has been convicted of murdering his brother and sister-in-law after they told him to move out of their La Habra home.
Alfred Renteria, , authorities said Wednesday, could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
He was convicted of shooting his 71-year-old brother, James Renteria, and his brother’s 67-year-old wife, Bernice Renteria, on April 7, 2005, after living with them for three months.
Prosecutors contend that Alfred Renteria, angered by the couple’s insistence that he leave, shot the brother in the back of the head while he sat on a couch watching TV and shot the sister-in-law in a bathroom.
He is scheduled to be sentenced June 6 at Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
