Harry McCracken, the top editor of PC World, rejoined the magazine less than two weeks after resigning his post over a dispute about a story killed by the company’s chief executive.

McCracken said he believed he could continue his job without pressure about how stories would affect advertisers. He has sparred with Colin Crawford, who stepped down as CEO and returned to parent company International Data Group Inc. as an executive vice president.
