From Times Wire Reports

Four American oil workers abducted three weeks ago were released to authorities in Rivers state in Nigeria’s south.

The men were not identified. Chevron Corp. reported May 9 that the workers had been seized when their boat was stopped by kidnappers armed with assault rifles and grenade launchers.

About 200 foreigners have been kidnapped since armed militants stepped up attacks on the oil industry and the government in late 2005, pressing their demand that more oil revenue go to the impoverished Niger Delta.
