Silence surrounded the risk of war
Re “Bush was told twice of Iraq challenges,” May 26
President Bush claims that he “weighed the risks and rewards” regarding the decision to go to war in Iraq. Curiously, though, his administration failed to alert the American people to these risks, giving “no hint that some analysts were raising red flags about difficulties to come.” One must conclude that the president is lying and in fact never considered the risks. Either that, or he considered an informed electorate irrelevant or an impediment to his lust for war in Iraq. Or -- more likely -- both.

I was wondering if knowingly starting a war based on false information constitutes either a high crime or a misdemeanor, and if so, when the House will initiate articles of impeachment?
