And you thought parking on the Cahuenga Corridor was bad now -- the Lodge co-owner Michael Sutton (pictured above) is putting the finishing touches on his new Indian-themed lounge Goa at 1615 Cahuenga Blvd. Sutton, 37, says the bi-level, 6,500-square-foot space (not including patio) will finally open this month. Named after the Indian locale that draws hedonistic tourists, Goa has three separate bars. But don’t expect to feast on tandoori chicken -- Sutton and partners (including Adolfo Suaya) will inexplicably offer up sushi to Goa-goers. India, Japan: It’s all still in Asia, right? . . . One of the first spots to start the so-called Cahuenga crawl -- manicure-and-martini destination the Beauty Bar -- has given itself a makeover. Goodbye played-out pink walls, hello an altogether more glamorous palette of gold, red and black. . . . Citizen Smith will see minor changes by the end of the year, according to the new owners, including a slightly retooled menu. Expect an official re-launch in December. . . . Nearby Kitchen 24 (from the folks behind Cinespace), the long-in-the-works, 24-hour diner with a full bar, is aiming for an early 2008 opening. . . . Online speculation last week focused on the possible sale of the longtime Cahuenga dive the Spotlight. Not true, according to one adamant bartender (though the owner himself could not be reached for comment). Looks as if at least one remnant of the neighborhood’s old “charm” remains intact. . . . And speaking of dives, say goodbye to the Dive. The Highland Avenue bar is expected to close by early December. New owners will remodel, rename and reopen the space in 2008.
