Jihad museum glorifies violence

Re “A museum to Palestinians’ heroes,” Nov. 2
Your story about the Abu Jihad Center for Political Prisoners’ Affairs failed to identify it as an institution that glorifies violence. Abu Jihad, the center’s namesake, was a notorious terrorist mastermind in the Palestinian Liberation Organization -- responsible for the murder of dozens of innocent civilians and tourists. Violent and murderous criminals are not heroes worthy of commemoration and honor. The true heroes are working for a genuine peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

Kuwait has donated $750,000 so that the Palestinians could build a museum to salute Palestinians jailed by Israel. How typical it has become for the Arab world to give money to teach and encourage more hatred and killing. Why don’t Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the other oil-rich countries build hospitals and schools or try to help resettle the Palestinians instead of keeping them locked up in camps? When will Arab leaders decide that it is more important to teach tolerance than to preach that the way to heaven is paved with murdered bodies?
