Jetliner skids off runway; none hurt
An Iberia jetliner carrying more than 300 passengers skidded off a runway in Quito, an airport official said, the second such incident in four months.
At least one tire burst on the landing gear of the plane as it touched down, causing it to slide off the runway. The Airbus A340-600 from Madrid was carrying 330 passengers. There were no injuries. A similar incident involving Iberia occurred Aug. 31.
