Test the spoiled waters
Re “Oil spill response defended,” Nov. 12
I have a simple solution for stopping oil spills: Require the ship’s officers and the officers of the company that owns the ship to have to drink a quart of the seawater polluted by the spill. They also could take a bath in it and not be allowed to wash it off for a week or so. Seems fair, because that is what the birds and other sea creatures are forced to do.
