You see inspired, but it’s just plain

The Home section seems to go looking after the unusual, uncomfortable, and unaffordable -- it’s a section I read because it’s there. In today’s edition The photos of the Peter Shire home [“Power of the Palette,” Nov. 8] are a typical example.

Interestingly enough, the Shires settled for a plain outdoor light fixture in the photo titled “Inspired.” There’s nothing inspiring about a couple of exterior lamp holders and plain bulbs. Guess beauty is still in the eye of the beholder.
