Chavez campaigns for amendments

From Times Wire Reports

President Hugo Chavez, rallying his political base, warned that anyone who supports him but votes against a proposed constitutional change granting him wider powers would be considered a traitor.

Waving a little red book listing the 69 revisions he seeks to Venezuela’s charter, including one that would allow him to seek unlimited terms in office, Chavez exhorted his backers to redouble their efforts to get a “yes” vote on the Dec. 2 ballot.

“He who says he supports Chavez but votes ‘no’ is a traitor, a true traitor,” the president told red-clad supporters at a packed arena. “He’s against me, against the revolution and against the people.”
