Eli Broad gets Carnegie Medal

Eli Broad, the L.A. businessman who has given tens of millions of dollars to cultural, educational and medical causes, was honored Wednesday with a Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy, presented every two years to “families and individuals who have dedicated their private wealth to the public good and who have sustained impressive careers as philanthropists.”
Also receiving medals at the ceremony in Pittsburgh were the Heinz family, the Mellon family and the Tata family.
