Oakley profit up, meeting forecasts

Sunglasses maker Oakley Inc. reported higher quarterly profit, in line with analysts’ estimates.
Oakley said third-quarter net income rose 37% to $23.7 million, or 34 cents a share, from $17.3 million, or 25 cents, a year earlier. Sales increased 25.5% to $263.8 million.
The Foothill Ranch-based company is being acquired by Italian eyewear company Luxottica Group.
