Baby car seats improperly laced

Newell Rubbermaid Inc. is recalling 277,000 Graco ComfortSport baby car seats because the lower anchor belt may have been improperly laced through the car seats during production. This could cause a seat, when in a rear-facing position, to tip forward too far in the event of a collision. The seats were manufactured from January through July, Exton, Pa.-based Graco said.

Microsoft Corp. is recalling the racing wheel of its Xbox 360 game consoles because a wheel chassis component can overheat and release smoke when the power supply is used to energize the wheel, the company said. Owners can get a free retrofit and, in the meantime, should operate the wheel using battery power, the company said.

J.C. Penney Co. is recalling 4,000 spindle-back chairs because they can collapse. The recall covers Windsor Spindle-Back side chair sets of four chairs made from solid hardwood. The chairs were sold through Penney’s catalog and online businesses from April 2006 through June of this year for about $250 per set. Owners should stop using the chairs and contact the company to get free replacements or a refund.
