From Times Wire Reports

Two bombs ripped through an army bus and a commercial district today in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, killing at least 24 people and injuring 66 others, the army and police said.

No one immediately claimed responsibility, but officials suggested that the bombings were the work of Islamic militants.

Many victims were soldiers, but no details were given on how many deaths each bomb caused.

Pakistan is a key ally in the U.S.-declared war on terrorism, and it has witnessed many bomb attacks since Sept. 11.
