Not-so-cruel rest

Re “Judge finds inmate rights violated,” Sept. 24

Someone needs to explain why making individuals who are incarcerated sleep on the floor is cruel and unusual punishment, but capital punishment (making them die) is not. Most people I know would rather sleep on the floor the rest of their lives than die.
