* at Baltimore 5, Seattle 4: Aubrey Huff homered to break an eighth-inning tie, and the Orioles completed their first four-game sweep of the Mariners since 1999. Melvin Mora also homered and Brian Roberts had three hits for the Orioles. The attendance was 10,774, the second-lowest in the 17-year history of Camden Yards. Ichiro Suzuki hit the 26th leadoff homer of his career and singled in the seventh for his 1,600th hit.

* at New York 6, Tampa Bay 1: Mike Mussina (1-1) pitched six sharp innings to earn his 251st victory and tie Bob Gibson for 42nd place on the career wins list, and Bobby Abreu was three for three, including a two-run home run. Mussina struck out three to equal Yankees TV broadcaster David Cone for 21st place with 2,668 strikeouts.

* at Chicago 7, Minnesota 4: Joe Crede’s grand slam capped a five-run seventh inning, Javier Vazquez (1-1) struck out eight over seven innings and Bobby Jenks pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his fourth save in as many chances. Vazquez is 4-0 with a 2.74 earned-run average in his last six starts against the Twins.

* at Angels 6, Cleveland 4: Torii Hunter’s grand slam in the ninth inning lifted the Angels, who had given up three runs in the top of the inning. Hunter homered in the eighth inning to put the Angels ahead, 2-1. Scot Shields (1-0) earned the victory in relief.
