Taco truck rule change delayed

Share

Implementation of a new county law that would extend the time that catering and taco trucks can park in one spot but increase the penalty if that rule is violated was postponed Tuesday after supervisors heard from those it would most affect.

Supervisor Gloria Molina, who is proposing the ordinance, said the issue would return to the county Board of Supervisors on April 15, after she has had a chance to explain the measure to vendors.

The rule would allow trucks to park in one spot for up to an hour instead of the current 30 minutes but would increase the penalty for violating the law from an infraction to a misdemeanor punishable by jail time. If passed next week, it would apply only to the county’s unincorporated areas.
