School costs
Re “Ponying up for public schools,” column, April 9
Our sons’ public school had a meeting similar to the one Steve Lopez described, although our fundraising was not as fruitful. We’re talking about starting a foundation just to raise funds for the school. I ask myself, what’s next? As taxpayers, we’re being squeezed on both ends. My only consolation as I write another check to our school is that I know exactly where this money is going.
