Video played role in Syria bombing
Video shot in a secret Syrian facility last summer convinced the Israeli government and the Bush administration that North Korea was helping to construct a reactor similar to one that produces plutonium for Pyongyang’s nuclear arsenal, senior U.S. officials said.
They said the video, to be shown to lawmakers today, showed North Koreans in the remote facility. It played a pivotal role in Israel’s decision to bomb the site Sept. 6.
Sources said the video also showed the reactor core had the same design as the one in Yongbyon, North Korea.
