An apology says a lot

Re “Miscarriage of justice,” editorial, Aug. 19

I applaud your courageous and principled position in this case. Saying sorry is not a sign of weakness; it reflects decency and courage. Owning up to responsibility goes a long way in healing strife.

If we are to make headway in our fight against terrorism, we must define clearly the distinction between our jihad and Al Qaeda’s.
