The films screening in the U.S. dramatic competition at Sundance are:

“Adam” Max Mayer wrote and directed this love story revolving around a marginally dysfunctional young man and the woman of his dreams. Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne star.

“Amreeka” Cherien Dabis wrote and directed this drama about a divorced Palestinian woman and her teenage son who move to rural Illinois after the outbreak of the Iraq war.

“Big Fan” A parking lot attendant, obsessed with the New York Giants, discovers his universe going topsy-turvy after an altercation with his favorite player. Written and directed by Robert Siegel and starring Patton Oswalt and Michael Rapaport.

“Brief Interviews With Hideous Men” “The Office” star John Krasinski adapted (from David Foster Wallace’s short story), directed and stars in this comedy about a doctoral candidate in anthropology who tries to get over her latest ex-boyfriend by interviewing men about their behavior. Julianne Nicholson and Dominic Cooper also star.

“Cold Souls” Oscar-nominees Paul Giamatti, David Strathairn and Emily Watson star in this drama about a famous American actor having an existential crisis. Sophie Barthes is the writer-director.

“Dare” Emmy Rossum headlines this tale of three teenagers attending a prep school who discover that no one is who he or she appears to be. It was written by David Brind and directed by Adam Salky.

“Don’t Let Me Drown” Two Latino teenagers deal with the attack on the World Trade Center in this drama directed and co-written by Cruz Angeles.

“The Dreams of the Romans” Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham star in writer-director John Hindman’s story about a reclusive author and the two strangers who enter his life.

“The Greatest” Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon star in this drama about a family dealing with the loss of their teenage son. Shana Feste is the writer-director.

“Humpday” Lynn Shelton wrote and directed this comedy about male bonding among straight men that gets out of hand. Mark Duplass stars.

“Paper Heart” Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera play themselves in this tale about the quest to find the true nature of love. Directed by Nicolas Jasenovec.

“Peter and Vandy” Jay DiPietro is the writer-director of this “contemporary Manhattan love story with no beginning and no end.” Jess Weixler and Jason Ritter star.

“Push” Lee Daniels directed and adapted (from the bestselling novel by Sapphire) this story about a young woman in Harlem defying the odds to find her own voice. Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe and Paula Patton star.

“Sin Nombre” Cary Fukunaga wrote and directed this thriller revolving around a teenage Mexican gangbanger who is trying to get away from his sordid past and former associates.

“Taking Chances” Kevin Bacon headlines this drama based on a true story about a volunteer military escort who accompanies the body of a teenage Marine back to his small Wyoming hometown. Ross Katz directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Strobl.

“Toe to Toe” An interracial friendship strains under the fierce competition at a Washington prep school. Written and directed by Emily Abt.
